Disclosures

How Largern makes money, what relationships exist between our editorial and commercial operations, and what those relationships mean for the coverage you read.

Affiliate Links

Some articles on Largern, primarily reviews, product guides, and gear roundups, contain affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the merchant. Your price doesn't change.

Affiliate revenue does not influence how we evaluate, rank, or write about products. Our writers are not paid bonuses based on affiliate performance from their articles. Review scores are set before any commercial links are added to the page.

Articles that contain affiliate links are identified with a disclosure note near the top of the story.

Sponsored Content

We occasionally publish commercial content in partnership with companies: deep dives, case studies, or native features written in our editorial voice. These are paid partnerships, and they are always labeled clearly at the top of the page as 'Sponsored Feature' or 'Partner Analysis'.

Sponsors have no editorial veto over the framing, tone, or claims in a sponsored piece. We won't publish unverified statistics, misleading comparisons, or marketing copy dressed as journalism, regardless of who's paying.

If you're ever unsure whether something is editorial or commercial, email us. We'll tell you.

Review Units & Access

Technology companies often provide test devices, early software access, or demo accounts so our writers can review products properly. We accept these where they're genuinely necessary to do the job.

Receiving a review unit does not obligate us to publish coverage, and it absolutely does not obligate us to publish favorable coverage. Once testing is finished, physical units are returned to the manufacturer or donated.

If a product is sent to us unsolicited and we cover it anyway, we disclose that in the article.

Travel & Events

We pay for our own journalists' travel, accommodation, and conference registration whenever we can. We don't accept all-expenses-paid press trips, luxury hospitality packages, or corporate junkets in exchange for coverage.

If a company covers basic event press credentials, and we produce coverage from that event, we note it in the relevant article. We don't treat a lanyard as a conflict of interest. We treat paid trips that come with implied editorial expectations as one.

Editorial Independence

No advertiser, partner, or investor holds a seat at our editorial table. Our editors decide what gets covered, how it gets framed, and what conclusions get published.

Commercial relationships (advertising campaigns, sponsorships, affiliate programs) exist on the business side. They don't cross into the newsroom. That separation is maintained actively, not just as a written policy.
