Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 2026

We collect the minimum we need, we use it only for what we say, and we don't sell it. Everything else is explained below.

Overview

Largern is a digital publication covering entrepreneurship, business, culture, and industry. We operate on a straightforward premise: you should know exactly what happens to your data when you visit us.

This policy applies to everything on largern.com: articles, newsletters, contact forms, and any commercial features. It covers what we collect, how we use it, who else sees it, and what you can do about any of it.

What We Collect

When you subscribe to our newsletter, pitch a story, or fill out a contact form, we collect what you type: your name, email address, and the content of your message. That's it for voluntary submissions.

When you browse, our servers automatically log standard technical data: your IP address, browser type, device category, the page you came from, and the pages you read. We use this to understand how the site is performing, not to build profiles on individual readers.

We do not collect sensitive categories of data. We don't ask for financial information, government IDs, health records, or precise location coordinates.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies for two purposes: keeping the site functional, and understanding aggregate readership patterns. The functional cookies handle things like interface preferences and basic session security. You cannot disable these without breaking the site.

Analytics cookies track how stories are discovered and read, at an aggregated level, not individually. If you'd prefer not to be counted at all, you can disable analytics cookies through your browser settings or a privacy extension. You'll still have full access to every article.

Advertising & Google AdSense

To fund our journalism, we run display advertising through third-party networks, including Google AdSense. These networks place their own cookies on your browser to serve ads based on your broader browsing history, not data that Largern collects or controls.

If you'd prefer ads that aren't tailored to your interests, you can opt out at Google's Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads), through the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), or via your browser's built-in ad tracking controls.

Readers in the EU and UK receive ads under applicable consent frameworks. We don't override those choices.

Affiliate Links

Some of our articles, primarily reviews and product guides, include affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the merchant. It costs you nothing extra.

Affiliate arrangements are disclosed at the top of any article that contains them. They have no bearing on how we score or rank products. Our reviews are based on testing, not relationships.

How We Use Your Information

Newsletter delivery and editorial communications you explicitly signed up for. Monitoring and maintaining site performance and security. Responding to pitches, corrections, and direct inquiries.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent or lease email lists. We do not share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. If a company helps us run the site (cloud hosting, email infrastructure, analytics), they can only use your data to perform that specific job, under contract.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. These include the right to see what we hold about you, correct inaccurate records, have your data deleted, and opt out of specific types of processing.

You don't need to navigate a form or prove your identity in triplicate. Send us an email at privacy@largern.com or support@largern.com and tell us what you'd like. We respond within 30 days, and we don't charge for it.

For California residents: we honor CCPA rights including the right to non-discrimination. Using this site will not change based on whether you exercise your privacy rights.

Data Retention

Newsletter email addresses stay in our system until you unsubscribe. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. If you use it, your address comes off our active lists immediately.

Server logs and analytics data are retained for a limited period and then purged. We don't keep anything longer than we need it for the purpose it was collected.

Security

All traffic to Largern is encrypted over TLS. We apply standard security practices across our infrastructure: access controls, regular audits, and limited data handling permissions for staff and vendors. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously.

Children

Largern is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13, or under 16 where applicable by local law. If we become aware that a minor's data has been collected without appropriate consent, we'll delete it.

Policy Updates

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you've acknowledged the revised terms. If you have questions about any specific change, write to us.
